This listing uses different names for some countries than the official listings with the respective sports organizations. THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL LIST AND COULD BE OUT OF DATE. We have done our best to make this list accurate but some MLB and IBA countries do not exist in this "computer countries" list. For example: SAIPAN could not be found on this list for MLB/ IBA and POHNPEI could not be found on this list for MLB. Because the organization of countries in this list is an international standard, we do not want to change it by adding country names that are more common ("England" -vs- "United Kingdom"). If everyone did this the list would not be standard. (Explanation of codes used in country listings below.)
